The online community of knife collectors
Recently Clint Thompson, an iKC member, writer and contributor to knife publications decided to begin research into unconventional military knives. In his blog here on iKC http://www.iknifecollector.com/profiles/blogs/unconventional-combat... during discussions he shared a link and I just had to post this in Forum with appropriate tags so that we might keep record of it. It is an excellent collection of military knives in a very well indexed site complete with pictures, dates, wars and knife descriptions.
The fellow who built this unusual collection is John Gibson, a passionate collector. John retired from the Air Force in 1984 and started aggressively collecting. As a collector, he says he was always trying to upgrade which led to selling and trading knives.(sound familiar?). That activity led to establishing his current site, Military Fighting Knives, about 14 years ago. He still buys military knife collections and thoroughly enjoys the hobby.
If you get time I urge you to take a minute and look at this fine collection of military knives.
