Join/Renew NKCA....19.95 Membership pricing during the membership drive
Fellow iKC members got a question for you.

You know I publish a personal knife collector news blog (CutleryNewsJournal), so here's my question- "if" there was an online knife magazine about to launch, what would you like to see covered or a part of this magazine?

Any "things" that are more important to you than others?

Knifemaker interviews/features, knife reviews, industry news, how-to's, trends, collector profiles, show/event news, etc...what do you say?

Special emphasis on Custom knives? Tacticals? Antiques? Others? New knives? Old knives?

Also, if the magazine had regular columnists or guest contributors providing articles are there any specific knife writers you'd like to see a part of this magazine?

Looking for your specific input here, so what would you like to read about or see as regular features or topics?

If you'd prefer to private message me with you input, please feel free to do so.

Interesting..... Good idea!

You are right on- there is no doubt iKC is in the members hands now and I love it. It is alive and dynamic.

I am thankful to all the members and their contributions to our community. There is simply no way I can keep things going anymore, but the truth is- our members can and do. Like you, Dale, each member has their "area" of interest and stays plugged in with those members and particular knife interests.

Because iKC is a microcosm of the entire knife universe it does offer a good glimpse of knife folks's interests and from a high level, I have a pretty good feel as I've watched it evolve.

Thanks for causing me to step back and see our community as a good resource for content and knife folk's interests.

Keep the tips/suggestions coming.

Old knives an Clubs
Scott, alot of the things you mentioned plus some history of knives, knife makers, knife companies etc.. I really enjoy that kind of stuff.
I think everyone has a lot of good ideas. I think an article about a different knife company and a little history on them along with a feature section on a different custom maker each issue would be nice. The custom maker articles could give some good exposure to a lot of the makers here on iKC. There are a lot of good custom knife makers here on iKC. there is a lot of things that have been covered in discussions on iKC that would be a good source of info.
I like all of the above
I like all the below.
The idea of techniques is nice.

I'd like to see a section devoted to Knife Collector(s) about upcoming knife shows--local, regional, national and international...Either by a knife collecting group i.e. Southern California Knife Collectors or New York Knife Show, brand collectors i.e. Buck, Boker, Puma, Victorinox or by guilds i.e. Arkansas Knifemakers and coverage of the shows themselves, especially the European ones--Paris, Stuttgart etc...There is also a lot on knife activity at the major gun shows as well NRA, SHOT, SCI, SASS Trail's End etc.

For industry news, I'd love to see a Communist Chinese made bulletin board of which models of a makers line are made there and which ones have stopped as well.

Also, a new model(s) released section is really nice but I'd really like to see which ones are being discontinued--I don't know how many knives I missed buying from the store that I eventually tracked down--either used and abused and/or for inflated prices--to complete a series of knives.
