Thanks, Terry. There wasn't really any blade restoration required, only the handle scales. I don't have a photo of the new ones yet, but will post one soon.

Hi Terry, Here's a photo of the finished restoration. The quality of the photo isn't that great, so it's hard to see the details of the polished brass wire and leaf inlay work. The other side is almost identical.

Hi Terry, Here's another restortion I did. I think this is an old Russian knife, or from some other east European country. In polishing the blade, most of the worn etched emblem was lost, so its identity was lost with it.

Terry, She sure is a beauty!!!! You did a super job bringing her back to life!! Thats something that I want to do to several old Imperial knives that my grandpa passed down to me, but they are in ruff shape. Back in the day these knives were bought to be used, LOL. My grandpa used most of them as tools, he cut many bull calves with a couple of them. LOL Thanks for sharing the picture you sure did a super job!!

Hi Terry,
Thanks for the kind words. I loved every agonizing hour of restoring that knife. Every pin had to be resized from its English size to a smaller metric size to match the old pins. That sounds relatively easy, like just spinning the pin in coarse sandpaper, right? Believe me, it was harder to get a smaller, uniform diameter on the over-sized nickel silver pins I started with than I ever imagined. If only I had had a source of metric-sized pins!

Terry, I bet it was very time consuming. It take time and patients to do that and I bet it drives you crazy trying to make them english pins into metric. I know it would me. LOL Whats the scales on the that knife I really like the looks of them.
