Please - "Van Adestine" Knives wanted, both Hunting & Fighting Knives

Hello All,

http://www.yostaction.com/vanadestine.html

Thanks for the warm welcome to iKnife Collector.

I'm hoping you all can help me ....

I've spent most of the last 20 years looking for particular knives made by Robert Van Adestine, from Little Wolf, Wis. back in the 1930's to 1950's.

I've been offering a $500+ finders fee / reward for each to locate them.  I also spent the last 7 years of my life writing a book about these knives

( see http://www.yostaction.com/vanadestine.html )

Here is what the Hunting Knife looks like ... with it's original distinctive sheath.

Here is how some of the blade markings appear, they vary quite a bit so look close.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Wow Buck, thanks for all this info, I'll sure be looking.
me two....
I'll watch also, you may want to see if we have any members in WI.  Maybe they would have the best luck
The book is dedicated to Robert Van Adestine's Grandson who passed away 5 years ago.
The book has been delayed about 10 days - These 2 recently acquired knives were hastily added to the study.

One is a Hunter and the other is a WWII Double Edge Fighter.

These represent Knife no.50 and no.51 added to the study.

Information about these (and 49 others) are included in the book.

Both very nice looking!

Here are 10 WWII Van Adestine Fighting knives that have been collected.  The WWII Van Adestine Fighter is likely the Rarest of all the WWII U.S. Military Fighting knives.  The 6th knife from the left is the latest addition, but unfortunately it is not included in the book.  It arrived a 2 weeks after the book was released for publication.  A separate "update page" can be obtained from the Author.

Hi, I have been trying to get in touch with Helmut about these knives with no luck. I tried a personal message and thensent an email to the email on his site but it keeps being returned?? If anyone knows how to get in touch with him please let me know,

Mike
