Being young, not having much money, and just starting to collect knives, I want to get some cheap (but somewhat popular) knives, like smith & wesson, or CRKT. The websites I have come across so far are www.legear.com.au, and www.cuttingedgeknives.com.au. Im looking for any style of knife, fixed blade or folder, whatever. It can be any brand, just nice looking, decent quality and cheap. Oh, and try to keep it Australian.

http://www.allterraingear.com.au/ .....australian and good all round service
Best way to buy knives from within AUS imo is ebay, a couple of stores ive used on ebay b4 .......
AusKnives
ozknifeliquidators
Clives knives
tassienerida knives .......got my first knife from here :)

ive used them a couple of times but to be honest id recommend buying your knives from overseas.....its cheaper (except postage) and most Australian sources usually only import the knives when you order them so it takes a long time (and customs don't make it easy either).....Oh and i agree with robs comment about cutting edge knives poor service....used them once, never again.

In case you do consider ordering from overseas ill include some sites with cheap postage and service imo....
www.knivesshipfree.com ........probably not so much of the knives you might like judging from "smith and wesson and crkt" but they have some good stuff imo

http://www.knifesupply.com ...i have an order (1st one) on the way from them....services is good and a good selection and prices (postage is alot but you can save alot because their prices r very low)

http://www.the-knife-connection.com .....havn't ordered from them b 4 but they look ok and they have some cheap knives like gerber and so on, shipping prices look ok aswell

NOTE: careful importing prohibited items, customs can get sticky hands :)

Any way hopes this helps and good luck acquiring some sharp stuff :)
aw so thats where u got that fulcrum that had all those problems........ i had some major problems with them too......
Cam, that does help, thanks.
Also, when you say be careful of imprting prohibited items.
Is that just daggers, balisongs etc.?
What are the consequences if customs decide to confiscate a folder or neck knife or something?
it can become confusing about what is a restricted/prohibited import because basically even customs have no idea :) but basically just stick away from automatic knives, assisted opening knives, balisongs and any blade that is double edged (even a sharpened swedge can get you into trouble).

I have had a couple of items seized before and i just wrote them a letter explaining how they were wrong and i got them back but usually the will just keep it and possibly send u a fine.

If you want to get some prohibited items though u still can but its just difficult because there is so many forms.

I still hold my breath when i import knives because u just never know what the guy checking it is thinking.

If you need any information customs r very helpful (also very clueless) u can email them at weaponspolicy@customs.gov.au i usually shoot them an email b 4 i import anything just to be sure
thanks mate, very helpful.
