I need some advice and suggestions since I recently purchased a few Rough Rider slip joint knives, there are some photos on my profile page.

My first impression of Rough Rider knives is that the Slip Joint knives are pretty nice for the money. All of the Rough Rider Slip Joint knives are very solid and tight fitting.

One of the Rough Rider lockbacks leave me with a lot to be desired as one of the razor blade lockback knives is a bit loose.

All of the Rough Rider blades were easy to sharpen to a "razor" edge using just a ceramic rod.

I do not know a lot about Slip Joint knives and do not have any comparison other than the memory of the knives my father carried; which I remember having thicker blades. My father's slip joint knives were probably Old Timer and or Case.

I am open to suggestions as what slip joint knives I should look at for a comparison?

In my opinion ..

Rough Rider's are a quality knife .. due to production #'s, current availability. etc .. low appeal to the collector .. great users !!!!!!

good price vs quality

... in my opinion.
Rough Rider is a good knife, worth every penny. but if you looking for slip joint comparison, there's a lot of brands. let see....Case, Great Eastern Cutlery, Frost, Schatt & Morgan, Boker, Buck Creek, Buffalo Creek, Bulldog, Canal Street, German Bull, German Eye Brand, Hen & Rooster, Kissing Crane, Steel Warrior, Yellow Horse, ( phew....so many brands, but those are what i can remember for now) and of course there are Custom Slip Joints Knives.....Happy Hunting :)
