Well John, as it so happens, I also scored one! I rather like the design and am especially fond of the blade shape. If you are familiar with Benchmade's Dejavoo series, you'll recognize the handle design quickly enough. I like the size of the knife...though I must say that I wish that they had made the blade a little thicker.

I have a black blade one with partial serrations you will love it. I am an emerson guy myself but that axis action has to be the smoothest in the world. Sam
Got one yesterday and used it for food prep in the kitchen this evening, the 154cm blade is very sharp out of box and very well balanced for such a hunk of knife. My only real complaint is why BM would use 154cm for the blade stock with the Deja's running my favorite S30V instead.

Never owned anything that made my 740 look small and the 745 look even smaller.

RIP Bob Lum, his designs are worth seeking out and good luck finding any of his customs...!

Great point, Joe. I too thought it odd that the Deja's get S30V (though no jimping) while the Onslaught got 154cm (which is still a good steel, but...). I don't know about you, but I feel that the thickness of the Onslaught's blade is a little "thin" for so large a folding knife.
Hi Chris,

While I've read complaints/concerns about the blade thinness, neither have I heard about anyone actually breaking the tip on one. Using mine in the kitchen a lot it's a terrific slicer...but I'd hesitate to use it as a pry bar at the same time...! (;-)
agreed...alittle thin but does serve a niche in my utility needs. Great for slicing and anyway I have a multitude of fixed blades (mainly from Bark River) to fill my heavy duty needs!

Be well!
If you break the tip off, its your own fault, that's what my prybar in the bottom of my tool box is for. My black non serrated is awesome. Large, intimidating, and it makes my dejavoo look like a kiddie toy. S30V or no. As far as the good luck finding his customs, its not about luck, strictly perserverance and money. I actually the day I ordered my Onslaught found the custom version for approx. $1300. So when I looked at the worn custom (sans axis lock) and the Onslaught I bought the Benchmade, because it fit my needs much better than a knife to sit in a case and brag about.
Good point, Chris C. By the way, at CountyComm.com, you can find all sorts of EDC pry bars for an exceptionally affordable price. I have one on my key chain at all times and most people would be surprised at how handy it is. A knife is for cutting, not prying and your point is perfect.
