It's common for vendors that sell Benchmades to have their own logos or markings etched on the blades. Whether these are worth more as a result is the real question...Mike Snody's designs are not for everyone, and the folding Model 420 is one of the thickest knives Benchmade ever made, and from my viewpoint never sold in large volumes. If you're asking about this folder, I'd offer if NIB, an estimate of $150 ballpark range would be a decent value. If it's the 220 Resistor fixed version it's worth less than that.
Cheers,
Joe

Permalink Reply by Joe Karp on July 3, 2011 at 1:41 You're welcome. One way to judge prices is to go to eBay and select 'closed' auctions, and input the name of the knife. You will find some surprises when you do.
So - if the 420's used and not heavily - the clip can be replaced for the asking from Benchmade - WITH the box and satin bag a realistic price might be in the $120 - $130 range, but for sure that just IMHO.

Permalink Reply by Joe Karp on July 3, 2011 at 13:31 Hey Dave,
The Resistor's just a fun knife. Only way I could carry it was in a velcro pouch. I've been a Benchmade guy for many years now, prolly owned most of the knives in the catalogs from this last six years. One nice alternative to the 420 is the slimmer HK 14205 and 14210 models, both Snody designs.
If you like Benchmades as many of us do, check out the Benchmade Forum at www.BenchmadeForums.com. There's a lot of good stuff on the site and I'm a regular over there.
Have a good 4th!
Joe
