Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I really need to know I'm not just crazy here.

But, I guess I feel like a lady with a closet full of shoes trying to decide which to wear (we men don't tend to have this "opportunity" cause most guys only have a few pair to choose from).
So, here's the deal- You wake up in the morning. Grab your standard stuff- money clip, iPhone, wallet, etc.....but what about that day's carry? How in the world do you decide which one to take for that day?

Help me out here, cause lately, like this morning- I changed my carry 3 x before I walked out the door. I went from my Strider RC to my Mantis Jyro and then changed again to my GE Stag toenail :) Like the difference between a hardcore working truck to a hyperdrive sports car and then to a classic collector car....but am I messed up..... Tell me I'm not crazy. There has to be some way to decide instead of my mood LOL and I really don't want to carry more than one either......

Just rotate them in a consistent order
..................okay how radical do you want to get? Get rid of all your knives except one. when you no longer like it...trade it in for another! Plan2..assign one knife per day of the month.......or better yet..Live with the "PAIN". Do you know of too many better pain?
OK, I think I get the point here, but let me ask this- HOW DO YOU DECIDE EACH MORNING?? :)

This video is not about knives "per se" but, I think it visually gives you an idea of my philosophy when it comes to self-defense, weapons, etc...

I love choices...get the right "tools" for your job or to complete the mission. Choices=OPTIONS, OPTIONS, OPTIONS...
J.T., I think you have options covered!...Well done...lol.
I won't have to choose any more. Got it figured out. Bought me one just to carry :)
Strider PT-CC.

I thought this was the best answer than trying to decide between the others as this one is just right size for my normal day to day.
lol!
if you cant decide you can always do what J.T does and carry the whole lot lol.
That's pretty funny Scott. I have actually done the same thing on a number of occaisions. I suspect we are seriously OCD (obsessive/compulsive disorder) Sometimes it makes me crazy so what I do to keep from being late every time I leave home is to just take 2 or even sometimes 3 edc's with me but is not the perfect solution. It reminds me of the people in the Gr. Eastern Group that keep adding to their collections but can't bring themselves to actually carry one. So they have resorted to buying two identical knives, putting one away to keep perfect and using the second to carry and still not being able to put the second one in their pockets afterall. I'm laughing just writing this.
Obviously, what I carry depends upon where I'm going to be and what I'm going to be doing. Typically, I have 2 knives and a multi-tool on me. I carry one mid-to-large sized folding knife for personal protection and larger cutting tasks. I carry a Leatherman Micra always...and if I"m doing something outside, I'll carry a Juice or a Wave. On my keychain is a Byrd Finch that for being so tiny, really works well.

As of late, I've taken to carrying my Leatherman Expanse E55. It's a mid-sized folder...drop point 154CM blade...but comes with a screwdriver (multiple tips) and a cap lifter. Though this comes with a pocket clip, I prefer to carry it in the sheath (which is very well made...and holds a bunch of bits for a screwdriver).

Now that my collection is starting to build, I find that I'm faced with this decision more often. Thing is, I like the idea of carrying one knife consistently. I like hearing stories about people who have carried a knife for years, until it becomes an old trusted companion. I want a knife like that.

That being said, I recently changed my EDC from a stockman to a barlow. I figure when I find "the knife" then I'll know (or I could just be deluding myself and will keep changing them out :) ).
I have about a dozen EDC"s that are mostly all old Case and German Eye folders with a couple "cheap" newer ones that range in size and configuration. (no two are the same pattern) If I'm going to work or working around the house outside in the garden I'll carry a larger knife. If I'm going out to dinner with the wife or somewhere like that I'll carry a smaller one. However, I'm finding that it's getting a little time consuming some days figuring out wich one to "grab" and take off, so I have decided to let a few of my EDC "friends" go and thin down the herd some. I'm thinking about buying a new Case stag handled premium 3 7/8" stockman with the damascus blades and carrying it "most" days when I'm wanting a larger knife. I'll try doing this for awhile and report back.
