Permalink Reply by Theodore Showacre on August 10, 2011 at 22:04 You sound like a friend who is ret. Army Spec-Ops--Viet Nam era. He has more blades on him than a combine. His main EDC is a Spyderco Civilian. It's quite similar to the Cold Steel Black Talon which IIRC can cost anywhere from $200.00 to $450.00 depending on where you buy. Civilians are $150.00 to $250.00. But Civilians have a much thinner tip than the BT, which like most CS knives is built to take a beating. However they are both designed for just one thing...slashing open huge gaping wounds.
I carry a Benchmade #610 Ruckus and LFK, a Kershaw Spec Bump, Spyderco Military and Persian Version and CRKT Crawford / Kaspar Tac. I always have a knife around my neck when in the shower. Yeah, I know, a little TOO paranoid, but hey, are we ever more vulnerable than when taking a long, hot shower? And seeing Hitchcock's "Psycho" several times didn't help either. LOL! I wear a Becker Necker or a Buck Short Nighthawk.
The two I have trouble choosing from are the Ruckus, which is a big folder and the LFK, an even bigger folder, with 4.25" and a 5.20" blades respectively. But in reality, I have a hard time choosing among all of them. It's like when I open my eyes in the morning, I'm 8 years old again and it's Christmas day. And all those terrific knives are brand new and they're all just for ME...LOL!

Permalink Reply by Marios Kardaras on November 9, 2011 at 6:16 Well in my bag i always carry a Victorinox Swiss Champ (with 33 functions is a toolbox in pocket format).
I also have a Victorinox Classic Alox with my keys, it's small and practical.
And in my car i have a Victorinox Rescue Tool, just in case that may need to help someone (or myself) in a car accident.
That's my EDC blades and i don't believe that i will change them, for a long time.
Permalink Reply by Ron"TUNA"Dumeah on November 9, 2011 at 19:35 I work in pest control, I carry a Leatherman Skeleltool and also a second blade. The second could be one of two, Gerber Ripstop which is a great light in pocket knife and the other is a Leatherman C33 but because this world is the way it is, someone else is now carrying my C33. I put it down and left for a minute and came back and gone! There is a bounty out for my C33. I as well could not sharpen a knife if someone stood over me and guided my hand. I have a small sharpener I carry to just run off the burrs. I am also very careful of what I cut. Proper tool for the job. That is what I was taught.
I usually only carry the Spyderco Bug on my keychain when I'm at school, but any other time I have a large knife, such as my CRKT Cruiser or Meyerco Catch Dog in my front-right pocket, and an old-timey slipjoint in my back pocket.

Permalink Reply by Steve Williams on May 2, 2012 at 17:29 Always two. A SAK on my keyring; at work it's a Case Cheetah Cub swing guard folder, on my own time it's something a little bigger - Case or Queen large toothpick, AG Russell Arkansas Toothpick split bolster folder...I'm getting ready to go to town now and I'll have AG's Sowbelly Wharncliffe riding in my right hip pocket. I have carried knives in that manner for years...my right front pocket carries "something else" and once you get into the habit of knowing "what is where" you are far less apt to fumble around when things happen... Works for me!
