With out a doubt in my mind, the one knife I would choose to trust for my remaining years would have to be the #73L. This is just enough knife for my needs, it does what I need it to without being obnoxious in the pocket. The liner lock system on this knife is really simple, but so affective. I have used a #73 on a few deer and thats where I learned to love it. I still have a razor edge with that little blade and it's not slowing down.
I like simplicity, but I also like knives, thats why I have so many. If I was robbed and I could only have one knife, it would be my #73L.
Donnie agrees, the 73 would be the first choice. the 72 would be the second choice

That being said, I'll get off my soapbox and I would pick a #72 lockback with a clip blade. I like Johnny's (and Donnie's) #73L idea too.
How about if you could only pick 7 GEC's (one for each day of the week) which ones would you pick? No offense Robert but that would be more fun! I'm thinking a #72, a #73, a #56 Dogleg Jack, a #57 Geppetto, a #54W, a #62 Courthouse Whittler and a White Owl (for Sunday). Throw in a Whaler and a Powderhorn or a #25 Barlow jack for leap year or a holiday. Now we just have to pick the handle materials for each of these!!!

I still just set an stare at them, oil them, caress them, then put them back in the showcase. But then again a #56 Dogleg Jack, I would carry everyday. Crazy ol man
Well, I have to pick a moose 54, it's like haveing a 73 and a spear point blade. Two knives in one. Tom, I like your idea, stag, wood, bone so many choices.
EDPC...Every Day Purse Carry, for you ladies, the knife that I have given the ladies that they like the best is a toss up between the "Ladies Leg" and the "Canoe". Yes mam, the Canoe, that's what I'm told. They like it because of it's shape and rounded points. Also, alot have been dressed up, bolsters and handles and such. EDPC....lol

Well I'm glad you like that, Miis Jan. I'd still love to see the knife. Johnny, changing that often, I'd be confused but knife happy.lol

Changing that often would make me crazy. I like having some solid time with a few good knives.
I like changing EDC sometimes. I like to give another knife turn and sometimes I need something bigger. Speaking of bigger, if GEC doesn't make a lockback 23 soon, I'll be forced to carry my Robeson or Queen, Mountain Man. I have the smaller 73 lockback but in summer I need a bigger knife alot.
