Allright here we go, as promised. I've always wanted to own a big fighting knife/bowie. However ever since I started making knives I somehow can't justify spending a lot of money on a fixed blade to myself. So I decided to make it myself. As I have…Continue

Well I am sorry you did not sell as much as you would have liked. The next one will be better. Talking to the is the key, exactly what you said. What they like and thier price point. Then you can start dealing with them

Stephen, unfortunately I only sold 4 pieces. And they were all the smaller ones. So all in I didn't even earn back the table price.
Nevertheless for me it was worth it in every way. And a good lesson in "sales" I guess. I learned that I need to engage more people in discussion about what they like and how much they're willing to pay for things. I experienced several moments where people picked something up, seemed quite excited about it....read the price and then walked away with a disappointed look on their face....whereas if they'd asked I'd happily have dropped my price.

Cant wait to hear about the show. Hope you get some pics also

And the final knives that I'm hoping to finish up before coming saturday, damasteel (stainless powder metalurgy damascus) blades in a Munin pattern.
Here they are after the (done by someone else) heat-treat in sulfuric acid:
And here are the individual blades:
I'm kind of hoping that not all of them will sell....because then I'll have a new personal EDC....
