Allright here we go, as promised. I've always wanted to own a big fighting knife/bowie. However ever since I started making knives I somehow can't justify spending a lot of money on a fixed blade to myself. So I decided to make it myself. As I have…Continue

Cant wait to see
You bet, Miss Jan, I have already taken a few to post on here. The good, the bad and the ugly...lol
Comment by Jan Carter on July 6, 2012 at 20:48 Bob and Robert, would love to see pics in progress. Keep us informed please?
I purchased a few cheap knife blanks to try and practice the art of installing handles. I'll post a few pictures to show my progress, good or bad. If any of you guys or gals have a knife project going on, let us hear about it. Heck, don't be shy, you can't win or loose, if you don't try.
Great, Bob, good luck on the project.
Comment by Bob Robinson on June 6, 2012 at 8:59 I'm making a knife from an ol broken crosscut saw blade. Progress is slow but I will post a few pics when I get the time. I had a hard time filing and grinding.
Great Idea.
Thank you guy's! I'm trying! Now I have a new job and I don't have so much free time to get here on iKC, so if you have a questions, recomendations, problems, ideas, everything, you can write to my email: ivarsday@gmail.com and I will try to respond in the same day! That email I can open even on my cellphone!
Ivars.
Comment by Todd Helmkamp on June 2, 2012 at 19:32 Ivars, you're doing just fine. Keep it up!

I tried to make and upload a video on cordage making but it looks like just a picture showed up. If so I may have to get the young boy over again.
