The NKCA is an international group of knife collectors, makers and enthusiasts. Founded in 1972, our association plays an important role in promoting and educating the members and public on our wonderful hobby of knife collecting.
Our iKC group here is to provide a local chapter within our community to organize, discuss and provide ideas and feedback for carrying the NKCA into the 21st Century.
If you aren't a member of the NKCA yet, however are interested in being a part of an outstanding historic association, please come on in. We welcome your ideas.
More info to come, as well as discussions and feedback areas.

We all have survival instincts….some more than others. I would like to hear from my fellow iKC members what two edged tools and or weapons you would choose to face the unthinkable, say on December 22nd, 2012. The problem presented is you are…Continue

Tony Bose has produced a unique and beautifully hand-crafted IVORY handled, ATS34, custom knife opener to be used exclusively as one of the NKCA's 2013 Fundraisers.Bose' knife openers are extremely rare and very collectible! They can NOT be purchased, because Tony Bose only produces these for close family & friends; therefore we feel extremely privileged to have been given one of these very special knife openers by long-time NKCA Member, Tony Bose. Comment by Patrik Ilijev on March 31, 2013 at 14:52 My condolences to the family.
I join in all NKCA members here on iKC in saying the knife community has lost a strong advocate and he will be missed. My prayers and condolences to the family.
Comment by Carl Bradshaw on March 31, 2013 at 11:12 Thank you, I appreciate the information.
Also, I wanted to send my condolences to the Koons family. Although I never met him, his name was often mentioned when discussing NKCA collectibles and I respect the knowledge that he acquired during his years.
Comment by Jan Carter on March 31, 2013 at 10:46 Carl,

Could u please tell Carl the NKCA club knives will hopefully be shipped in June-July.
Comment by Mark Zalesky on March 29, 2013 at 16:12 Wayne was a good man, and a good friend. He loved knife collecting and devoted a great deal of his time and energy to promoting it, in all sorts of different ways. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who cared as deeply about knife collecting and collectors as Wayne did.
My heart goes out to Mary -- she and Wayne shared a number of wonderful years together and I hope she will take some consolation in the memories they made while traveling around the country in search of knives, knife collectors, and knife history. Lots of happy times, I am sure.
Rest in peace, my friend. Our little world will be a poorer place without you.
Comment by Jan Carter on March 29, 2013 at 15:47 The cutlery family lost a valued and cherished friend today, as did iKC and the Carter family. Even only knowing Wayne a short time was a gift.
I sincerely regret to inform you of the loss of my dear, loving, friend and Nat'l Knife Museum Board Member, WAYNE KOONS. Wayne suffered a heart attack this morning and passed away about an hour ago. Funeral arrangements will be posted later. (Lisa Sebenick)
Comment by Carl Bradshaw on March 24, 2013 at 15:49 Is there a rough estimate of when the 2013 club/youth knives will ship out? Last year I got mine in September, I assume this year will be the same. Just curious.
