WELCOME TO THE NCCA-

The Northeast Cutlery Collectors Association, Inc. is a 20+ year old Association serving old, factory & custom cutlery collectors. We collect pocket knives, hunting knives, antique bowie knives, military knives, antique swords and more! Our association is based in New England, but our membership extends worldwide.

As with all collecting clubs, we started out small, very small- Believe originally we were 12 members strong in 1982. We had our swap meets in member's basements, cold barns, and usually in the summer... it was a backyard affair. As with any interesting and versatile hobby, membership grew, and it grew, toinclude not only antique pocket knife collectors and Bowie and hunting knives but also collectors of current factory made pocket knives, such as Queen and Case, moreover, we were joined by many custom knife makers. So now the club boasts membership of about 450, where half have life memberships. All of us who work doing either the website content, newsletter printing and mailing and administration are volunteers, and we do it for the love of the hobby.

REMINDER - THE NCCA WILL BE HAVING IT'S ANNUAL SHOW IN MYSTIC, CT ON THE 27th. AND 28th. OF APRIL. ALL MEMBERS AND GENERAL PUBLIC ARE WELCOME. DON''T MISS THE GREAT SELECTION OF CUTLERY ITEMS, DISPLAYS AND SATURDAY NIGHT AUCTION. FOR MORE INFORMATION VISIT THE CLUB WEB SITE AT www.ncca.info

Started by Jim Child. Last reply by Jim Child Apr 28, 2012. 2 Replies

Hey all!I kept hoping and hoping, but Mystic is this weekend and I have not been able to clear a hole in what I laughingly call a "schedule" big enough for me to get down to CT. My biggest problem is…Continue

LIFE got in the way and had me picking up 10 piglets in NH rather than schmozzing at the tables in Mystic weekend before last.  :-(  ...I had really been thinking I was going to be able to organize…Continue

All Members, I agree with Joel and Jim, we should be able to get more members. I had posted an inventation to all of our members in two consecutive issues of our news letter and have had minimal response. I think we all need to keep trying. I will post the inventation again in upcoming editions of the NORTHEAST EDGE. Best of all, Art

I know Joel -- Moe Legare says that he as been emailing invitations to the NCCA Group out to those Assoc. members that do 'do' email and for whom he has current addresses. I've been "mentioning" the iKC NCCA Group over in both BladeForums and the Case Forums. It would be nice to build up a "critical mass" of group members and get some chat generated.
Hope you had a good Thanksgiving! -- we had our first "leftover dinner" last night. ummmmm ..always better the next day! ;-)

There are only 21 of us? We need some young blood to temper our ageing membership.

TGIF - Two days and counting ....
I'll be there ...barring force majeure! My first knife show!
Another Mainer, knifemaker Mudd Sharrigan, will be riding shotgun with me. I understand that Mudd has attended the Marlboro show before but not for quite a few years.

I've heard from NCCA board member Moe Legare who advises he will have a table at the show -- "I should be the first table in the second row."

Steve Pfeiffer (does anyone else think of Steve as "Mr. Case"?) will be attending. I'm bringing my copy of Collecting Case Knives: Identification and Price Guide -- hoping to have Steve inscribe it for me.

Another Mainer, and fellow "rigging knife" collector, Mike Mainen from downeast, tells me that he has also reserved a table for the show.

Being too old to be much worried about embarrassing myself, I'm going to make myself an "iKnife Collector" name tag to wear at the Show.

PS -- I'm still finding that the iKnife Collector forum does not like Mozilla Firefox. I've switched to MS Internet Explorer.

I'm definitely going! Probably be wearing my Cold Steel T-Shirt my brother bough for me at Smokey Mountain Knife works when he was in Tenn.

It might be fun to set up a meet-up at the show -- maybe all us iKC'ers could wear a turkey feather behind our left ears.

Note: I'm partly posting this as a test. I tried every which way to successfully post my last comment -- nothing happened until I switched browsers from Firefox to Internet Explorer.

Nope, everything just hangs when I'm using Firefox. Internet Explorer is the trick.

Hello all! I'm just in the process of joining the NCCA -- just sent Moe L. my $$ the other day. I've been collecting rigging knives for a decade but really only got serious about it earlier this year.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming show at the Holiday Inn in Marlboro, MA. I'm close to 4 hours away up in Maine but have the date circled on the calendar.
