We don't just wake up one day and say "I think I'll become collector today." What do you remember are some of your first collections and do you still have any of those items?

Cook Books. I have about 300 of them. I love to cook new recipes for lots of people. My favorite dishes to cook...Cajun
Nice watches James. In my years, I've learned to appreciate a good watch. I wear a Casio Pathfinder daily.
And yes, I do have an original Lile, but it's somewhere safe. I may go get it out for a day and take some pics of it. I usually don't like to do that because, the last time I showed it off, I got a ton of emails from people making offers.
Again, nice watches!
James,
That Gene Autry is AWSOME!!! original?
I've enjoyed seeing everyone's collections. I collect 'vintage' corkscrews, wine and champagne related items. Here is a link to some of my corkscrew photos if anyone is interested.

Original Rambo III poster from 1988
Rambo: First Blood Part II CED Video
Original Rambo III Bowie Promo Poster
Original SPANISH Rambo III Poster from 1988
Original Rambo IV Poster (2008)
Original Rambo IV THAI Poster (2008)
Lee,
I had a great laugh realizing that you collected girls and cars. Finally got down to just one car ROFL!!!!! Bet both of them had parts in the strange night in SF
We too have an eclectic collection of "stuff" Over the years it has been watches, Disney, fishing related items and knives. We have pretty much narrowed it down to the knives though
Comment by Lee Saunders on March 23, 2012 at 17:03 I always told people "I really don't collect anything." When I was in my teens and twenties I collected music and music equipment. "Albulms" for those that remember. I still have probably 1,000 mostly 60s & 70s. When I was really young (say 6-16) I collected knives and hats.
After that I tried to collect girls. Was all I cared about. And then cars. I finally got down to just one car when I bought my CTS 3 years ago.
Truth is, I was always a collector. Came from a family of collectors. My mom collected everything. She passed in November 2011 and I am still working thru all of her stuff.
I have some old Coca-Cola stuff. Guess it's why I have some Coca-Cola advertisement knives. And coins. Guns for awhile.
Except for knives I don't try to collect. I just do.
A few of my things:
Civil War Minie-Ball. Treacherous.
My 1854 Half-Dime
My VW Coca-Cola bus from the late 1950s. This toy is worth more than any of my knives.
"When pigs fly!"
A street sign lifted from a San Francisco corner one strange night...
The badges on my grill...
Hi everyone. I also collect vintage corkscrews and other wine related items. This includes old advertising, price lists, prints, articles, cards, stoppers, pourers, champagne nippers, and misc wine paraphenalia.

I need to have my head examined. It appears that I've started collecting corkscrews/bottle openers (bartender tools) by accident! Sort of a spill over from the small collection of bartender knives I've already got.
PS. I'll need to look for GEC and Case playing cards.
