What are you seeing happening with trends, values and demand with other collectibles?

Of the areas each of you are into (besides knives), what are you seeing happening right now, considering the economy? Has values and demand held up? Has the supply of those other collectibles increased?
Observations/comments/trends....?

Since the threat of obama becoming president and it's coming to past. The price of firearms has been climbing...double even triple in some cases. Because the nation fears another more restrictive firearms ban. And the high taxes proposed on the ammo for said firearms.

He is not pro-gun or pro military for that matter. These (2) AK-47s the 1st one I got 2 years ago. The 2nd I had since 1991. Prior to obama could be had here in Hawaii for $550.00-$700.00. Today, if you can find one, goes for $1000.00-$1700.00. Gun shops in Texas, Arizona, Oregon, etc...were out of ammo last month. How's that?

I'm glad I have an extensive arsenal and the ammo to go with it already. Trying to build one now could be very difficult...if not expensive!

"I'll give you my gun when you take it from my cold, dead hands!" (this NRA slogan is becoming more urgent and realistic in todays political climate).
yeah, I followed the run on guns lately. I ran during the Clinton Admin....prices were better then.
Prices have generally been dropping on fish decoys. Name recognition is a necessity to command higher prices or even to sell them. That and getting in one of the few fish decoy books that are on the market will help to sell decoys. Unfortunately because there are so many carvers that without name recognition you have to die in order for your decoys to become popular. Supply & demand. Still a very fun hobby.

Collectible camera's -  supply is down & value is steady over the past 10 years

Sterling flatware - selling  price is way down though the price of silver is way up.  It's also getting hard to find at a price that makes sense. Too many people with little or no understanding of the precious metals market are paying outrageous prices & buying for the silver content. If you want to invest in silver, buy fine silver ingots, not sterling.

English china - prices are steady and there's still a good supply available.

I used to sell art. Prices are way down so I seldom buy a piece any longer.

My conclusion is that folks are a lot tighter with their money when it comes to buying higher priced "status" items
