What do you prefer for a Stockman Knife? Is it Production, Vintage or Custom? Why?

I prefer vintage, there classic peices of americana.

I like them all. I started collecting stag.  the smooth bone became my favorite to look at. I am not clear on the whole collecting concept.  I have never sold a knife , and wouldn't own a knife that I wouldn't  be a good knife to use if I choose.  I have been using Case yellow comp CV for a couple years thinking and just keep putting it in my pocket instead of any other.  I think the pretiiest knife I ever owned was this Case Appaloosa bone. the picture does not do it justice. It looks rich like Ivory. One of my best friends admired it once too often and I just had to give it to him. I expected him to use it as his EDC like the others I gave him over the years, but son of a gun he put it up on display., the first ever for him. I guess  I turned him into a collector. Should I feel good or kind of like when you shared moonshine with your goody two shoes cousin and got him in trouble?
