Permalink Reply by Ron"TUNA"Dumeah on January 4, 2012 at 21:22 I have a emergency kit in the car. Contains all the things that we would need to use. Flashlight, candles, Emergency food..( i.e. energy bars, water, candy) it also contains four candles for heat, matches, emergency blankets, flares, tire inflate, knife, multitool. I carry two large movers blankets inside the trunk as well at all times. Basic tools as well. This is all just for normal every day use.
If we go on the road I double everything in the kit for food and water for at least 72 hours per person. I am thinking of adding a back up power supply for the cell phones. Our car is also fitted with Onstar we do not normally have a service contract but they will add ya if you have a credit card number.
The worst thing you can do is to leave you car. I have read so many stories of them finding people 100 yards from their car dead.
