REMINGTON 1613 / 1615
I have seen in one book that some people believe a 1613 with the round cartridge shield is probably counterfeit. There is also a 1613 with the bullet shield. An old book shows a 1615 made with the round. I see on e-bay a 1615 plain...no shield. I also see on e-bay a 1613 with round shield. I don't go to enough shows to ask experts. What is the story? I do have a 1613 w/ round that it would blow me away if it were not genuine.

Hi John, I have seen a number of the 1613 w/ round cartridge shield at knife shows and ebay,I see them in Remington catalogs and I have several old advertisements showing the exact knife and pattern number.I have also seen a few counterfeits.I have only seen one 1615 w/ round shield and it was in rough shape.Hope this helps, Scott

What number does the traditional bullet knife in that pattern carry? Is it 1613 also? There must also be a 1613 with no shield on it at all. Is this true?? John
