Well Thor the brain trust has requested a picture of the tang. I don't know if you can or if you want to, but they would like to try and match something up on the A and 2 stars. Sometimes the fun is in the exploration! Steve

      Thanks for the info I kind of thought thats what Garantie was. I had done some research before posting the pictures.  The A looks like this (this is the best I can do)  *A* and the line that goes accross the A goes all the way through. I don't see any other markings. When I was looking through my loupe I noticed it looked  like the sheild was pinned on as there is a small ring in the middle of it. Its funny you should say it might be a Boker I just got a Boker catolouge in the mail today. THOR.

In fact do you see any other markings? At the base of the blade either side?

I believe what you have is a Boker knife could be dated from around 1937.  The garantie is guarantee and its possible the knife was made in Germany. Let see if we can get some additional info though on the A with two stars. Good find!

   I bought this knife for $6.00.
