To be honest I never use safeties on my knives but you never know maybe you want to for some reason lock it so better to have the option if it bothers one it can be removed with no problem. I think it is like with SOG knives all the better assisted/automatic knives have the safety option except ZT knives and some low end kershaw knives.
Another one I like Patrik, Concerned about that safety lock though. do you find that's important or necessary?
