This group is for knife enthusiasts who are interested in repairing, modifiying, restoring or improving knives, including fixed blades, folders and automatics of all types.
KaBar sells a rehandle kit for $7 (+$6.50 shipping) that includes all the washers, guard and pommel. All you'd need is a piece of metal bar to attach them to. Hope this helps.

Hi Bob,
Sorry to take so long to get back to you about the possibility of you doing a custom Seahorse Whittler for my grandson. The Flaming Edge Grevillea that you did is one of my favorites, but I haven't seen one that you did that I didn't like. If you would prefer to use a particular kind of scales, I'm sure that we could work it out.
Thanks,
frankplant

Bob,
I sent off an email to you; as you suggested. Looking forward to hearing back from you about doing a special horsie for my grandson.....and don't worry about commenting to yourself. When you start answering yourself; that's the time to be concerned!
Thanks,
frank
As you can see, I haven't been to iKC much lately (forgive me Scott!), but have a BUNCH of great friends here. Personally, my Seahorse collection isn't big at all, but it does have some nice ones in it. I am a huge Case fan though. My preferred model to collect is the 83 pattern Whittler but, if I see one I like, I don't let little things like model number hold me back.
I've got to warn you that I'm not particually fast on my knife work, but would be glad to do one for your Grandson (as a Grandparent myself, how can I refuse?). Give it some thought as to what handle material might have special meaning or appeal to you and the lad and give me a shout at pickle@cinci.rr.com and we'll work something out.
Hi Bob,
I saw your workmanship on the Seahorse Whittlers. I'm fairly new at collecting Case knives with my 11 year old grandson.. J.J. encouraged me to buy a Seahorse, and I got hooked...have 12 at present. I'd love to have you do a special one for my grandson.
Regards,
frankp
Hey Bob
Just in the neighborhood and thought I'd drop by. Hope all is well and you are having a good summer. I can't wait for cooler temps. It's hot down in here in Alabama :)

desiccants are fine in a SEALED application to reduce humidity, but in a open situation like a gun safe or wooden cabinet WORTHLESS. why? because they will absorb just so much humidity, then are "saturated" and are rendered useless.to rejuvenate the…

Kevin S Gallagher My new knife, Benchmade RIFT auto Axis. Will post a review this weekend.
Any of you use desiccants to protect your collections? If so, where do you live, (how humid?) and in what what do you keep your knives? (I make drawer cases for all manner of collectors -and lots of knife collectors- and wonder if I ought to help th…
I thought I'd jump in here and "end" this thread:
I did send the knife into Case Repair fellowing the instructions on the website. I intentionally tried to forget about the knife so I wouldn't drive myself crazy haunting the mailbox every morning i…
I suppose it all depends on the 'defendant's" political leanings. Seems to me that the enlightened left can get away with murder (or switch-blades), while the conservative folks get in trouble for saying 'dang-it' after something heavy lands on thei…
One has to be careful with WD-40 use, Only 10% of its ingredients are non-hazardous, the rest can be considered hazardous to varying degrees. The following is from the WD-40 Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS):

wow! yeah that's a fantastic list.
I think you need to add WD-40 or a similar product to help remove dirty oil from the pivots of folders or any moving parts and to help loosen stuck screws.
another item would be lok-tite or a similar product to s…
Add a can of Ren Wax to keep them nice and purdy and I also use a little bag of Silica gel to keep the moisture out !
You sure did a good list though! One doesn't even think of all the stuff that you use and accumulate.
