110 Rigs - What do you carry your 110 in?

I have become increasingly enamored with the 110. In the last 6 months I have bought 5 older 110's and refurbished or customized 3 of those. My last purchase was for a 1989 Finger grooved variant, that came along with a Quick-draw sheath & a standard Schrade sheath. I have tried the standard vertical fold over flap sheath & the cross-draw sheath. Neither of which kept me from carrying a modern tactical pocket knife. The psychological need for a quickly deploy-able knife is evident in my…See More

thanks Brad...that western bowie has saved my butt one fall when I just moved to BC...kept me in fire wood for the night...my brother gave it to me when I was 12 years old

the old one and the Shrade underneath the Bowie...were my Dad's tools...I remember him using them every fall since I was about 8 years old...around forty years now..

The Marble knife I found in a box at a gun show a few years ago...15 dollar sweetie

Ok so I did measure the thumbstud and from the top of the blade down its 1/4 inch and to the scales its 5/8th. I have not gotten the thumbstud off though and I tried! It has to be screwed on but just have not been able to get it off.

For about 3 years now I have been drawing up & cutting out my own fixed blade knife designs. I have yet to complete even one of them. That is terrible, I know, but I am easily distracted by a Paying job and family. This Blog will help me to keep track of the projects.  Please offer up ideas and advice freely, I welcome all of it.

I will list these projects as I started them:

Amatuer Buck 110 Custom Project

Posted on February 14, 2013 at 18:00 41 Comments

As some of you may know, recently I have caught the 110 bug. I've been buying older used 110's on eBay out of curiosity.

Well, I love these knives. They're easy to re-furbish, re-task and the variations of handles are countless.

This project will consist of a complete tear down, cleaning, New Damascus blade and scales. Plus, re-tasking the old blade into a usable fixed blade. This blog will be updated as the project progresses.

Okay, the title says it all. I am not a english major, so don't ridicule my composition skills.

This blog will be my outlet for honest opinions and facts of knives that I found intriguing enough to buy for myself. With that being said, let us begin.

Last night I picked a Mantis Vuja De from my local knife dealer.

Overall Length: 6.000"
