About Me
I live on a 50-acre farm in the mountains of southwest Virginia. I love it; It's quiet and you don't have to worry about neighbors when you're in the middle of nowhere. Needless to say, I highly value my privacy, serenity and seclusion.

I'm a laid-back kind of guy and can get along with almost anyone. I love to talk and have a tendency to talk a little too much sometimes. Feel free to strike up a conversation with me whenever you get a chance.

I've been collecting knives for over twenty years. They've fascinated me ever since I was a kid. I love tactical and military knives, as well as movie blades.

More about me: I'm a survivalist. I'm no expert, but I consider myself to be pretty well versed in that arena.

I believe that it pays to be prepared for anything and everything. I firmly believe in the statement "It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. "

I guess we'll find out when that time comes. Haha.

I love nature and the outdoors. There's nothing like going out into the woods and experiencing what nature has to offer.

I love to draw/paint. I guess I specialize in comic book style art, but I also love airbrushing and acrylics. I also do graphic and web design. You can see my art at shivchoko.deviantart.com

Other than knives, my other vice is toys. I collect Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, and Toy Story action figures/collectibles.

Custom Punisher War Zone 1/6 scale Figure - Step 2: Assembly

Posted on May 16, 2012 at 15:59 4 Comments

So, after I got all the parts in the mail, which took about a week, it was time for assembly. I wish now I had taken pics of the assembly process, but I didn't. Oops.

One of the hardest parts of assembling this figure was the head; it didn't fit exactly right onto the neck joint, so I had to take my trusty exacto knife and trim around the inside of the head.  I tell ya what, cutting onto a $30 head sculpt wasn't my idea of fun. After a bit of trimming, the head fit pretty well. I…

New Project: Custom Punisher War Zone 1/6 Scale (12 inch) Figure - Step 1: Getting the Parts

Posted on May 5, 2012 at 4:54 3 Comments

As many of my closer friends on here know, I'm a huge fan of The Punisher. For those who don't know, The Punisher is a comic book character (from Marvel Comics). To make a long story short, Frank Castle's family is killed by the mob, so he takes it upon himself to clean up the streets and exterminate any criminal he comes across, becoming the Punisher.

The comic book series has been on going for four decades and there have been three films made. The first, in 1989, starring Dolph…

What I Look for In A Knife - Volume 1

Posted on April 24, 2012 at 19:30 15 Comments

Before I officially begin, I’d like to remind you that the title of this entry is “What I Look for In A Knife,” so obviously I’m not speaking for everyone here; just myself. If you agree with me, that’s great. If not, that’s fine too. I don’t expect everyone to have the same taste as I do. After all, if we all liked the same things, the world would be a boring place, wouldn’t it?

What follows is sort of a checklist or a set of guidelines I try to follow when buying a new…

I've been a fan of Conan the Barbarian for as long as I can remember. The original Robert E. Howard books and short stories, the comics, the movies, etc. I even remember, when I was about five years old, having…
