"I originally bought the E.T. for its "gadget" appeal, but have found it to be a fairly good working knife due to its blade shape. The slight up-sweep from heel to tip of the edge puts the belly at about mid-point on the blade directly…"

"its funny, because i was recently looking at a bunch of spydercos and the sage3 caught my eye, but i just didnt remember the name of it, it looks awesome tho, if i do get the rat 1, i will likely get the satin finish to avoid the painted blade"

"Th Rat 1 folder is a lot of knife for the amount paid. The black plain blaid is a little weak looking due to they look like they sprayed it with hardware store paint. I did feel that it wasn't easy to deploy as Scales aren't sculpted in a…"

Hey Chris, The Rat1 is a good value for the money spent. Not thrilled with the blade paint , nor the way they didn't sculpt the scales . The latter is an issue to me as it isn't easy to get my finger on thumb stud they way I like. The Spydie Sage? A whole different animal. Excellent fit and finish. Easy to deploy. Nice pocket clip{only gripe could be the lack of tip up/tip down issue} A+ blade. Weight and size are great. Scales look awesome. Its the first in a line of variations of itself { good time to scoop up one, before prices go up} . Next version is s'pose to be released in June with Titanium handles and an intergral lock.

Thanks Chris, I was amazed I forgot that there was a Cabellas in Winnipeg! I was there for my grandma's funeral and my brother and I stopped by the SIR (AKA Cabellas), I was in hog heaven man! they had every possible knife I could want and could get anything they didn't have in stock. Benchmade, Kershaw, SOG, CRKT, you name it! But yeah thanks for the bass pro shop suggestion, forgot there was one in my area. Never actually been there though!

Oh and they had a ton of assisted opening knives at SIR!
