I enjoy the history of the cutlery industry. As a result, I've a few stampings ya just don't see everyday.

Finding/researching the varied stampings has been an enjoyable journey into the history of the cutlery industry. Along the way, I've been exposed to a wide variety of design approaches.

From that came an interest in the different approaches to locking a folder in place.

From there ... the design approaches for an automatic. Then ... assisted.

It's been a wild ride !!!

I have not officially gone camping this summer.I have done some survival tests that include overnite roughing it tho.I live about an hour drive from most desired outing places here, such as lakes and camp spots.I have no car and it makes it tuff to travel.I wanted to test out the FrankenAxe2 and so I set out with my bike, backpack, and blades, and tried to spend unplanned nite in desert w/no sleeping gear.I got mauled by mosquitoes after i let fire fade out early morn.

Any of you use desiccants to protect your collections? If so, where do you live, (how humid?) and in what what do you keep your knives? (I make drawer cases for all manner of collectors -and lots of knife collectors- and wonder if I ought to help th…

I suppose it all depends on the 'defendant's" political leanings. Seems to me that the enlightened left can get away with murder (or switch-blades), while the conservative folks get in trouble for saying 'dang-it' after something heavy lands on thei…

Add a can of Ren Wax to keep them nice and purdy and I also use a little bag of Silica gel to keep the moisture out ! You sure did a good list though! One doesn't even think of all the stuff that you use and accumulate.
