"It's nice but the Wharncliffe blade is not traditional and not a very good field blade.  The Clip blade is the better utility blade. Kevin"

Recently I have had some great interest in vintage knives because this past year we hosted a series of scripted chats focusing on the history of knife companies. I enjoyed the historical perspective and set about trying to find a few that I thought would fit that historical profile.

I have also gotten more interested in tactical knives and have purchased quite a few really good ones with pocket clips and used them as EDC.

Trying a few too for personal protection, neck knives, boot knives. Its kind of a mix right now.  But I enjoy the education here as I am by no means a star collector. I just love the hobby! How about you?

Thanks Frank! I plan to do just that-I'm having dinner with a good buddy. Won't be out on the road at all.

Kevin,

Welcome to iCK. I trust you’ll find this a great resource whether you’re a 50 year collector or a 3 year collector. Scott has set the benchmark for internet communications regarding the interest of knife collectors. On this forum you’ll see posting from industry names like A. G. Russell, Case collector author Steve Pfeiffer and more. Whether you’re a custom knife make, folder collector, hunter pattern enthusiast, or Vintage knife only collector there’s a home for you here. From Photography to the up-and-coming names in production knives and custom knives there’s a forum to seek out answers, post opinions and share and trade ideas and even a knife or two. So welcome again. Dig in, join the group that interest you the most and have fun. As one member sighted to me when I posted s blog about diminishing retail values, he reminded me that it was “whatever is fun” and that’s what really matters.
Have a very safe and Happy New Years Remember, New Years Eve is the night all the armatures are out drinking on the road so stay in and stay safe!
