Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Just got home an hour ago from the Goodyear, AZ gun show and couldn't wait to share my new find of a 2nd Generation John EK Commando Knife. ( I carried a first gen. when I served actively in Germany in the late 70's).

This one is unique as it has Copper rivets instead of the lead or brass rivets. (It is my belief that only about 50 of these were made, but I'll find out more when I call EK tomorrow.) The knife is an M3 with Wallnut sacales, High carbon steel, 1 1/2 edged blade, full length, full thickness tang and LC-2 Paracord sheath (Original)

Hey Francois,

Not many where made with the copper rivets. Maybe upto 500, they didn't have the exact figure. They did tell me it was produced between the late 80's and early 90's.

Hi Leopold,

I have the same exact knife, with copper rivets. Would you mind sharing what you found about it when you called Ek?

Thanks in advance :)

I have a good friend that his farther was the personel driver for Omar Bradley during World War II. His name was Alex Stoute, he shot it out with the Germans on several occasions, to protect the general, I have been told. Well, to make a long story, short, my friends family still has his knife that he carried during the war. It was an EK knife, I really didn't know much about this brand knife until I started collecting knives with a bit more education. I thought I'd pass that on to ya'll, it's all so interesting.
