Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Hey Folks,  I got something I'd like to share with you today, the pictures you see are of a text book that was used in the schools in the Village of Camillus New York, this book was printed by Columbia University Press in 1944, so all the students in that area were taught about the major employer of the area, Camillus Cutlery. How would this effect the work ethic of our young people today if business's were allowed to teach them? This little book contains some really neat information that I will be using in later blogs....Comment away!

Teaching work ethic, that would be a change, and a welcome one in todays world.

I noticed on the title page, that it was part of the "Business Life In America Series".  Wonder what other companies were in the same series.

Steve,

I cant wait to hear some of the cool information in that book.  I think they have even done away with carreer day, much less teaching about a legendary "small business"

That would be awesome to be taught about the Cutleries in the Classroom. I lived in that area when I was in High School, the center of many great Cutleries, I would have loved that.

It is a shame that the principals and the ideas, and ideals that were so prevalent in the 40's & 50's have had to give way to the political agenda of people who know nothing about what needs and should be taught to prepare young people for real life.
