ModeratorJ.J. Smith III said… - You have to remove the seed while you're carving the whole thing. Say, when working a basket you'll carve the handle, when you've broken through the "Pit" you can remove the seed. Then shape the handle. I use scrapers, that are similar to dental picks, for this.
If you've halved a pit, (or it's split when you get it), You can make pins and things out of each half.
