Viewed your site and it's looking good, real good--couple of spelling errors are easily corrected. Those cases you built for the NRA are exactly like the quarter sawn drawers I got from my uncle--mine stand 68" tall and have just smaller…

What I was trying to say is that a knife that is used and taken good care of is very valuable to a knife user. The better the condition of a knife is when put up for sale the more the knife will bring on the market. I have knives that will bring the…

Rob, I feel as the same way about some user knives sir. But in reality some knives are better left in pristine condition with original box and paper work. Just depends on the knife in my opinion sir! James

Fancy Chemical Issues for Knife Collectors:

Posted on September 15, 2010 at 9:12am 2 Comments

(And my thanks to Gary Kennedy who brought it to mind.)

Two things you might need to know about both cleaning up knives and them keeping them in place. Let me give you my thoughts on the cheap way first and then the fancy pain-in-the-tuchas expensive way.…

Another question about curating knife collections:

Posted on September 3, 2010 at 7:26am 3 Comments

Any of you use desiccants to protect your collections? If so, where do you live, (how humid?) and in what what do you keep your knives? (I make drawer cases for all manner of collectors -and lots of knife collectors- and wonder if I ought to help them worry about corrosion.)

A Question about sharpening

Posted on August 12, 2010 at 5:32am 6 Comments

What a nice bunch of GOB's you'll are! Many Welcomes! Feel right to home.

So much so, that I have to ask a question. Years ago someone told me that

when you sharpen a good knife, you are not only grinding away the bits

you don't want, but you are also 'smearing' just a few molecules up to

He (and while I ain't sure who it was -it sure sounds like a GOB story)

also said stainless steel… Continue

Hi Bill

An auction I attend in Englewood has 42 Boy Scout knives this Sunday. Dates from 1911 to 1980. I know it's short notice but they just posted the pictures.

Here's a link to the discussion I started this morning in Knives for sale:

http://www.iknifecollector.com/forum/topic/featured?xg_source=msg_feat_disc

I'll be there (not for the knives) so if you attend, find me and say hello.
