No experience with the HG55. Though I can tell you it's a mainly for fighting. It could be used as a good out door knife but the design is not intended for that.
It's a cool knife, I admit, but not something that I'd get.
Also, again user preference. You won't know if you like until you've tried it.
Ahhh... I see. Though, it is user preference. My review (or any others') will be biased. Only you will be able to determine whether you like the knife or not. It shouldn't discourage you if the majority of folks say it's a "bad knife."
Great. Though I can tell you that the S5 is about as close to the RMD as your going to get. Same Steel, slightly different design, and different handle.
I really like the NMSFNOs. Wish I could have gotten one. But I just have to satisfied with my Ratweiler.
Exactly. I never got in on the conversation at BF. To many flamers and all. Mainly there to see if there were cool knives to buy.
Right now in this site, I'm just gonna stick to a few groups and just discuss there.
There are a lot folks and discussion but find one that suits you and just stick to it. It will be a lot better and the groups will generally be small and much more close-knit.
As for the M6. I handled one at Blade West 07. Didn't like it that much. A lot of folks on the SRKW pretty much say it's one of the most worthless designs. Big but not weighted enough to chop well. Too thick to cut well. And just sort of the medium of everything which makes it a bad knife.
Though I can't say anything personal about it since I haven't used it. It was, I think mainly made for "combat." Fighting balance and really deep clip point (though tip would still be strong to tip pry, gotta love Busse Kin). Basically an over built Ka Bar. Though again, I don't have any actual experience with it so I can't really say much beyond speculation.
I hope you'll do a review and blog to give us some insight. :D
But to answer your question, the SY forums got a little too big. When I was there it was a real close-knit community of 20 guys who really just kept it going.
Now it just gotten a little too big ( not that there aren't a lot of members, but active member wise). That and threads there, no offense, have gone down in IQ.
When I was there it was just "NEW KNIFE!" or "LOOK AT THIS!" (I don't have anything against showing off knives but conversation wise it was out of place to me). That and so many people are just getting JYD status from simple "nice knife" comments rather than posting worthwhile comments.

I actually never certified due to school complications, but I wasn't planning to make a career out of it. It was kinda of a steal for me. :D

That bugged me too.
Though, I like this place. :D
Glad to hear and see that you like my vids and all.
Great knives you have too!
